World Nursery Rhyme week 2017

The children have enjoyed participating in World Nursery Rhyme week this week in Nursery where we have been learning a new Nursery Rhyme each day. The children have been looking at the Nursery Rhymes Bobby Shafto, Lavender’s Blue, Hickory Dickory Dock, Wind the Bobbin up and Old King Cole where all learning has been based around these. The children have been making sea collages, mixing paint to make the colour lavender, looking at different clocks and making their own clocks recognising numbers 1-12 and looking at where cotton comes from and how it is made.

Nursery Monitor

Mazie and Grayson have done a fantastic job in Nursery this week being the Nursery monitor. They have helped their friends when they have been upset or needed help with anything, and have been great role models to the other children in Nursery showing them how to do good sitting and listening. Well done!

Time to Rhyme

Currently in Nursery all our learning is based around Nursery Rhymes this term. This week in Nursery we have been learning the Nursery Rhyme Baa Baa Black sheep. The children have been learning the Nursery rhyme as well as counting sheep and matching them to the correct number, working in our wool shop counting pennies, weighing and measuring wool, making pictures of sheep using pieces of cork dipped into paint and making shapes(circle, rectangle, cylinder) with them. A big thank-you to Isla’s mum for making the sheep for the wool shop(which has yet to be named!).’
