Children at Moorside took time to reflect on all the brave soldiers all over the world that fought for our tomorrows.

This year marks 100 years from the end of WWI.

We sold poppies to raise funds for the British Legion.

The poppy shows we remember. We remember a war that began over a hundred years ago. We remember people caught up in other wars, all over the world. We remember that good can come out of bad. And enemies can become friends.

Mrs Rosenbloom lead our 2 minutes silence then Mrs Power played the Last Post.

In military tradition, the Last Post is the?bugle call that signifies the end of the day’s activities. It is also sounded at military funerals to indicate that the?soldier has gone to his finsl rest and at commemorative services such as Anzac Day and Remembrance Day.

Mrs Power then went into our Early Years classes and played the Last Post again. The children all around school showed great respect during these times of reflection.
